Porn star Cole Connor is having a moment right now. The porn star and podcaster recently won the coveted Best Leading Actor at the GayVN Awards (aka the Oscars of porn). And his popular porn podcast Sorry for Asking joined the Fleshbot X Cybersocket podcast network for its newly launched Season 2. If you love a podcast with lots of humor, heart, and sexy banter, you'll want to give it a listen. We caught up with Cole Connor to talk about the pod, telling his mom about his porn career, and his co-host, Adam Ramzi.
1. What's your go-to best "I work in porn" story that you tell at dinner parties or gay hangouts?
When I told my mom over the phone that I had started doing porn, I had only been doing porn for 9 months. It was not my intention to tell her on my way back from Palm Springs, but I had been filming Ride or Die for Raging Stallion, and I was on a total high and really proud of what I’d been doing with my OnlyFans as well as with Falcon-NakedSword. She asked me how work was going, still under the I impression that I was doing online personal training and coaching (mind you, we were about a year and a half into the pandemic). I said I was kind of doing something else. She asked what. I started to try to explain what OnlyFans was because she had never heard of it. “It’s a platform where creators can put exclusive content up and people can subscribe to you and… Well, actually, Mom, it’s porn. I’m doing porn now.” To which she replied, “Oh? Okay!” No judgment, no shock. Just acceptance. It was a really great personal moment for me. I love my mom!
2. Who is the target audience for your podcast?
I think anyone can get something out of listening. Whether you are a fan of porn or you don’t really know anything about it, there are things we discuss that go beyond just sex and performance. We discuss the physical and mental effects it has had on us and the people we know. Our goal is to normalize the porn industry and dilute some of the misconceptions and stigma around it.
3. If you could describe your co-host Adam Ramzi as the living embodiment of any fictional character, who would he be?
I have to go ahead and steal his Instagram name…Prince Jasmine! He is a beautiful, dark, and sexy man but also one of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever been friends with. He is definitely worthy of the title of Prince. And he’s queer, so why not just bend the gender bullsh*t and be a princess?!
4. What podcasts are you obsessed with right now? What makes a must-listen pod?
I will have to get back to you on this. I don’t listen to that many, but I’m more interested in the ones that talk about personal growth and change when I do listen.
5. When you meet a stranger, what's a good question to ask other than oh where do you live, what do you do?
Are you top, bottom, or versatile?
