FFisting with FFäusten: An Intimate Conversation about Fisting, Community, and Lubes with Anthony Esclavage

Anthony Esclavage, Founder of FFäusten, created the company “out of the desire to innovate on how we play, making it more enjoyable and sexy with products developed specifically for fisting.” Thus, the fisting and BDSM play brand began. FFäusten, with its cool name, is all about the product! They have spent years and countless tests, however pleasurable they were, devoted to enhancing the fisting experience and making play and enjoyment the focus for their community. Anthony, On your website, ffausten.com, you classify yourself as FFister. Can you tell us about your first time and whether you planned due to genuine curiosity or spur of the moment in the heat of passion?

Well, taking a fist is not a spur-of-the-moment thing for most guys. It takes training and time. Like other fistees, I had a regular guy I played with, a fister, and they enjoyed playing with my hole. I loved the stretch. Over time, I craved the ultimate goal: a fist. I trained with larger and larger toys. March of 2019, I took a full fist for the first time. After, I had to figure out if my goal was to take a fist or if I was really into it. Oh, I am REALLY into it. LOL.

You boast, "We are developing innovative & original products to meet the unmet needs of our community." Can you tell us the unmet needs of your community?

Fisters have learned to make fisting happen. Historically, we have and still use products developed for baking and inseminating sheep and cows for lubricants. That's all that was available at the time. While they get the job done, they do not maximize enjoyment during play. That's where FFäusten comes in:

We wanted an easy-to-mix lube that feels good to the top and the bottom. A lube bottle that made play easier without opening and closing to stop the flow of lube, not slippery to touch during, and a soap that makes removing lube easy and quick. So, we developed our amazing 100% Polyethylene Oxide (PolyOx) The Lube that is easy to mix and feels so, so good. We also launched The Lube Bottle, which has a one-way valve to stop the flow of lube as well as rubber grips to make it easier to handle during play without the paper towel. We also kept it to 22oz to make handling with one hand during play easy, but large enough to mix 16oz of The Lube.

In early 2023, we are re-launching The Lube Bottle. The new The Lube Bottle is translucent red, so you can find it on a black play sheet and see how much water you put in while mixing (with 8oz and 16oz indicators) and how much lube you have left. It still has the rubber grips on the bottle, but we added rubber to the cap to make it easier to open and close. We will also re-launch The Clean-Up, which has been on a hiatus as we worked on perfecting the formula this past year.

Before entering this venture, how many other fisters did you product test with and what toys were a part of your showcase?

We spent a lot of time researching our The Lube, used it for ourselves and partners for months before we launched. We knew what we wanted out of it: easy to mix with no clump, and feels good on hand and hole. It took us a while to figure it out, but once we did, we knew we had a lube 100% exclusive to us and fulfilled all our wishes. Soft, sexy, not gritty, mixes easily, and stays fresh for up to two weeks without refrigeration (but make sure you use filtered water).

For toys, I borrowed Square Peg from friends and also got some generic ones from the internet – mainly toys with circumference to help with my stretch.

Now, BDSM equipment, I have a closet full. Being a Sir, I do enjoy using a sub.

What was missing from the products you played with that drove you to create yours?

FFäusten started because I wanted a soap to remove lube that did its job. I was taught in the community to use dish soap and stand at the sink for 5 minutes until all the lube washed off. There had to be a better solution! So, The Clean-Up was the impetus to start talking about starting a business.

What is unique about FFäusten is that we are a brand, not a single product. Our brand has and will continue to enable us to expand our product assortment. It provides a way for guys to share their interests without wearing a hat that says FIST in bold. When you see someone in an FFäusten The Cap, you know they are a fister and what they are looking for, plus our logo is just damn sexy!

What are your fister preferences? Fistee or Fister? Do you play with toys? If so, what are some of your favorites?

I am Top Vers. So, both Fister and Fistee, although mainly Fister. While I enjoy toys and using them on the guys I play with, not a huge toy user myself. After getting my stretch done to take a fist, I upgraded to playing with others.

What enticed you about this classification of pleasure?

Fisting is a very intimate act. More so than fucking. If you haven't experienced it yet, an anal orgasm is incredible, you can have more than one in a session . . . WOW. The stretch! The feeling of someone working your hole or when I work someone's hole. It always leaves me wanting more.

The Lube is for sale on your website, could you talk to us about your other products?

We have our The Lube available in both bulk or packets. We are the only US company to do a 100% PolyOx lubricant – there are no fillers or sugars in The Lube. We are also the only ones to package it in a single-use packet. The Lube Packets are perfect for travel or keeping on hand. We designed them to mix with a water bottle, so you literally could go to a convenience store, pick up some water (dump a little out) and mix your lube on the go. I keep two packets in my toiletry kit for when I travel because you never know when fun might arise! It is also a lot easier to explain than a bunch of white powder in a baggie.

Another exclusive product is The SP Bag! I have a very sensitive sense of smell and HATE the smell of stale poppers. I used to wrap my bottles in paper towels and then THREE ziplock bags and still ruin a Go Bag because poppers don't even have to spill, just sitting in the bag after a session will allow the odor to build up. The SP Bag uses active carbon to capture the odor, it is also made of waterproof nylon to help capture if you accidentally leave the cap loose on a bottle. It holds 4+ bottles. We are launching a smaller version in 2023 that will hold 1-2 bottles you can take to a party and wear. It is a unique product in the marketplace and has saved me from destroying my Go Bag several times.

Did you already have a presence in the fisting/BDSM community before you created this venture? Was it easy to acquire endorsements?

Honestly, outside of guys I played with in DC, no. One thing that is nice about the community is we support each other. After launching and people using the product, the business continued to grow. We launched this year in the UK at Regulation and will be launching in January in the EU. So, fist pigs and toy users in the UK and EU will now be able to buy FFäusten at their local shops.

Who are your top fisting content creators?

Julian Torres and Bobby Ryker of course! I also enjoy ThiagoBoss who is in Spain, Drew Dixon, and Devin Franco.

Poppers are a staple for euphoric relaxation in the queer community. Any plans to create or collaborate with brands?

There are many great brands out there, right now, we aren't looking to get into the space. Although, I would not say no to a collaboration or carrying another brand on the site.

Celebrity you'd love a session with and why?

Hmmm, tough question. Probably Devin Franco because he knows how to take a fist and is so sexy.

You are throwing a party at Mid-Atlantic leather in January with Bobby Ryker and Julian Torres as headliners! Could you talk to us about that and how it came about?

MAL is a huge Leather/Kink/Fetish weekend, but you know, there hasn’t honestly been a large-scale party for fisters until ABYSS. Historically, you get invited to someone's hotel room and while these can be fun parties, there wasn’t an opportunity for open play with lots of guys that are into fisting. With ABYSS, you don’t have to know someone to play, you can get a ticket. Last year, we had our first ABYSS and it was a huge success. We host it at The Crucible, which is a local BDSM club with over 5,000 sqft of play space and it enables us to properly hold a large-scale fisting party. This year we will have 22 slings – both from JimSupport and some from Mr. S in their play space, about two dozen fuck benches, lots of tumble mats, etc. So, plenty of places for someone to fist or be fisted.

The party is an open sex party, so you don't necessarily have to be a fister to attend, as we will leave a lot of the BDSM equipment up for the event. We are constantly looking at ways to make ABYSS better, as it is our signature party and one of the largest fisting parties in the US. We will have over 250 guys attend this year.

Julian has been our spokespig since we launched. He is a dear friend and such an amazing man. He introduced us to Bobby last year. They both model for the brand, with our most recent shoot this past September in Palm Springs and Joshua Tree. They will be performing at the party as well. Music will be by DJ Juan from San Francisco, who spun last year. It is great working with them all again and couldn't be more excited for this year's ABYSS!
