December 1 is World AIDS Day, and we're spotlighting the annual, sold-out New York fundraiser Broadway Bares. Founded in 1992 by Jerry Mitchell, Broadway Cares is an annual Broadway strip extravaganza that raises money and awareness for those living with HIV/AIDS while also stripping down some of Broadway's hottest stars and dancers to nothing but their dance belts...sometimes less. While working as a dancer on Broadway, Mitchell and six fellow Broadway dancers raised $8,000 with the first ever Bares show. 20 years later, Broadway Bares has raised more than $21 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Scroll on to check out some epic strip numbers from Broadway Bares.
