Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-ruling monarch in the history of the British empire, passed away today at the age of 96. And all feelings of Colonialism and monarchies aside, Kween Liz was decidedly a badass who knew how to wear every inch of the royal fabrics she had available. At a time when modesty was paramount and ankles were saucy, Queen Elizabeth II managed to exude style, grace, and beauty; even in the most modest of outfits.

If red is the color of passion and power, then even in her 80s Queen Elizabeth II knew how to pull off a stunning shade of red like this. The hat, the purse, the dress: STUN.

"It's Gorgeous"

This dress reminds me of the dress Zach Braff's aunt (played by gay icon Jackie Hoffman) makes for him out of the wallpaper fabric in Garden State and I fucking love it! She looks like our grandmother's favorite couch turned into a dress, and somehow she still looks beautiful. Brava, Queen!

A Royal Lewk

Though often associated with bold, solitary colors, Queen Elizabeth II decidedly knew how to layer patterns together to bring together a full look. I think she looks so beautiful here, and her outfit just exudes joy for some reason. Maybe it was the bajillions of dollars she was worth.
