We chatted with Matthew Mullins from Skullbit Creative Events (the fetish-oriented party promotion team behind Cocksock) about next week’s event where we’ll be taking party photos and handing out exclusive Cybersocket giveaways. What is Cocksock?

Cocksock is an all men’s cruising party with a “Cock in a Sock” theme where we donate part of the cover and clothes check to a testicular cancer charity we choose each month. The Testicular Cancer Foundation will be our beneficiary for this month’s event and they happen to be my favorite testicular charity. The party is designed for men to find all types of other men and there is more to see as everyone is wearing less than they would usually wear.

If I could paint a picture of what the party looks and feels like for you, it would have 250 hot and sweaty men who are 21+ and of every race, size, and sexual interest; getting scantily clad (but not illegally naked) for a really fun time and a good cause at The Bullet Bar. You’ll see hot go-go studs rocking their socks to the pop rock and electronic sounds chosen by DJ CMR, and the back patio full of horny dudes looking for a guy or two to meet, greet and possibly end up in the rubber sheets with.

At Cocksock, there’s not a lot hidden and the final stroke of “paint” is the happy knowledge that you are actually saving lives by coming because everyone present is donating to testicular cancer charities through their cover charge. The party is for fun and cruising only.

My favorite part of Cocksock is the mirrors in the inside bar area. Our graphics guy (and my man for 8 years now), Dan Lovell, paints three hot muscle dudes in cocksocks on the mirrors. Every party. Testicular cancer is a very scary cancer to have because it attacks your nuts. So hurry over to The Bullet Bar where there are plenty of people to give you an exam!

How did Cocksock start?

In 2014, I won the Mr. Bullet Leather contest and started throwing fundraisers for different charities like AIDS/LifeCycle and PAWS/LA. The same year I fell in love with a well known go-go dancer/daddy named Dan Lovell. After a few months together, we decided we wanted to throw events and created Skullbit Creative Events. We started throwing creative parties to fundraise for charity and bring more men out to the bar scene in Los Angeles and take them off of their GPS sex apps.

At the same time, men all over the world were taking photos of themselves wearing nothing but a sock on their cocks as part of an extremely provocative social media campaign to bolster awareness of testicular cancer, which affects 1 out of every 250 men in their lifetime (oddly, about the same amount of people that show up to Cocksock every month). So we expanded on the idea and applied it in the context of a party for men to not only cruise other ‘cocksockers’, but to also get checked for testicular cancer (which anyone can do following this guide) if they have any concerns.

If something appears odd, lumpy or strange down there, go see your doctor as soon as you can. 99% of cases identified early or in stage 1 are non-life threatening after treatment. Cocksock is definitely driven by this message, but at the actual party it’s driven by the desire for men to find other dudes like them. It’s a very handsy gay party that has donated thousands of dollars to many testicular cancer charities across the globe.

What are some of your hottest memories at Cocksock?

The parties just keep getting better and better. I think it's awesome when I see a couple guys cruising each other and then see them again at the next party cruising together. I often promote the idea of bringing a new buddy with you every time, and I see a lot of new faces every time.

As far as direct personal memories of it, all I can say is that you have to come and experience it for yourself—no spoilers. Just know that it’s always an adventure into the realm of the horny male UC mind and that it has become one of the biggest parties we have ever thrown.

There are free socks available with the cover charge, but what are your favorite Cocksock ideas you've seen?

Cocksocks began their popularity in Croatia and were originally called “Willy Warmers” and made with squirrel fur. They have a long history of being popular as gag gifts and even Joan Crawford reportedly knitted one for a co-star once, but they really began being noticed in a hot and sexual way because of the Red Hot Chili Peppers who famously wore them when touring in the Netherlands in 1988.

You can find a ton of neat looking cocksocks and related type underwear on Amazon. Or you can always just buy a pair of Andrew Christian underwear, which basically all tend to have ample space in front.

What advice do you have for new guests who have never checked their clothes at a bar before?

The people who check their clothes have the most fun at Cocksock. It's a party with so many different kinds of people and those who are more shy might feel intimidated to participate. This is why I say to bring an outgoing slutty friend with you. It helps jumpstart your night and everyone needs a good wingman. I would advise you to go to this party only if you are in a mood to cruise and also only in good spirits. We tell everyone if they are cruising to head to the back of the patio. That’s where most of the guys looking for trouble go.
