Cathedral City LGBT Days is California's first pride of the year and it's happening this weekend, March 25-27. A hop, skip, and pump away from California's iconic gay destination Palm Springs, Cathedral City has a thriving nightlife and gay community all its own. Some highlights include a Friday night bar crawl through the Cat City gay bars, the famous Bed Race and Parade on Sunday, March 27 beginning at 10 AM, and the finale tea dance on Sunday at The Roost. But we have to talk about what a crazy day Saturday is going to be.
Get yourself down to the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater starting at 4 PM on Saturday for Channel Q, GED Magazine, & The Abbey T Dance & Lawn Party. There will be lawn games, drink specials, and Abbey go-go boys. At 6 PM, Drag Race All Star Mayhem Miller & DJ Alex D take the stage to get the crowd going. Then at 7 PM, the viral sensations The Old Gays make an appearance, which knowing the Palm Springs/Cat City crowd, they'll fit right in.
Finally, our teenage dreams come true with the Pop 2000 Tour hosted by Lance Bass. Full stop. Before he was the openly gay, married, zaddy we know him to be now, Lance was one of the five members of the record-breaking boyband NSYNC. With his deep, Southern voice and killer moves, Lance was my preteen everything: I went to a NSYNC concert holding a Lance sign and saw On the Line...in theaters. Co-headlining the concert are O-Town, Ryan Cabrera, & LFO. Take a 2000s pop spiral of their work below.
Then, late night, after hours, get down and dirty with Devin Franco, Reign, & Felix Fox at Anthony John's Pig Daddy underwear party at The Barracks.
