With the Olympics officially over, we have much to celebrate in terms of out Queer athletes who competed for their nations. In fact, with a total of at least 36, there were more out Olympians competing this year than in all of the previous Winter Olympics combined! Here is our rundown of some of our favorites.
Where better to start than with Team USA's Andrew Blaser? At a whopping 6'4" and 189lbs, this sexy athlete is repping his name well as a true trailblazer. Blaser made history this year as the first-ever out Olympian to compete in the skeleton race. The skeleton is essentially the bobsled, but with the mere suggestion of a sled (hence, "skeleton"). The thought of speeding down a half tube of ice on a lunch tray with wheels sounds incredibly risky, but then I just remember, it's fine...I'm on PrEP. Not only is he an Olympian, but he's according to his IG, he also does one hell of a backflip. Andrew if you're reading this... you can flip me over on my back any time you want.

I’m forever an Anglophile so let's talk Team Britain’s Bruce Mouat, who at the age of 27 led Britain’s curling team to a silver medal this year. He came out to his teammates 8 years ago and has said that it profoundly impacted how he was playing for the better. It should also be noted that Bruce is cute as fuck and although he’s the Skip of Team Britain, I have no plans on skipping out until the next morning. I make a mean eggs in a basket, FYI.

But what about our cousins to the North? If I were to ask, "what's your sexuality?" who would answer, "geh"? None other than Canada's Paul Poirier. Y'all, holy fuck Paul is gorgeous, and although he didn't take home any medals at this year's Winter Olympics, he is an incredible skater who has won innumerable medals in national and international competitions, and has absolutely skated right into the hearts of the world. And like...look at that face. Woof.
Bringing it back home for a minute, Team USA's Timothy LeDuc is so damn sexy. This tall drink of Iowan ice water stands at 6'1", has skin that is smoother than a freshly-Zambonied rink, a seemingly perfect beard crop, and a smile that'll make you weak. They (and their skating partner Ashley Cain-Gribble) unfortunately didn't bring home medals this year, but this gorgeous skater sure has plenty to be proud of: they were the first non-binary Olympian in Olympics history! Congrats, Timothy!
What list of hot out Olympians would be complete without Gus Kenworthy? Many people were surprised to see Gus competing for Team Britain in the 2022 Winter Olympics, but sure enough, this ridiculously hot otter was born in Chelmsford, Essex in Southeast England. Having previously won a silver medal for Team USA in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Kenworthy unfortunately didn't win any this year for our brothers across the pond. But if you've followed the zeitgeist for the last number of years, you'll know that Gus is going to be just fine professionally. I just think there's a real clamoring for the two of us to be a power couple, ya know? It's time to give the people what they want, Gus.

Speaking of power couples, we have one in the 2022 Winter Olympics! Brazil’s Nicole Silveira and Kim Meylemans of Belgium are in a relationship, and both of them are exceptional skeleton racers. Lemans had an emotional rollercoaster with a video that went viral of her crying in isolation when she thought she was being brought to the Olympic Village, but was instead brought to another isolation facility. What's exciting is that the two competed against each other in the same sport, although neither brought home any medals this year.

What an incredible time to be a young Queer kid who dreams of being an Olympian!
