Shawn Mendes Slams People Who Say He’s Gay Again

Shawn Mendes is opening up... uh-gain... about the perennial rumors pertaining to his sexual orientation. And ya'll. She pissed. Mendes is currently promoting his latest album - Wonder - but what he's really wondering is why so many people think he's a nymphomaniac bottom cum dump. In a recent interview with The Guardian, when pressed on the authenticity of his relationship with Camila Cabello, Mendes spilled:

There was a desperation for me to come out as being gay, which is such a ridiculous thing. I got upset because I know people who are gay who haven’t come out and I know the suffering they experience because of that. It’s just completely ignorant and insensitive of people to be on that shit.

"My boyfriend's gay and he's suffered enough!" Kidding! I personally do NOT think it's okay to call Shawn Mendes a jizz-hungry cock goblin, but I also can't help but feel that celebrities fare better in these situations with at least an iota of humor. I always think of Ryan Seacrest's Family Guy callout:

And ya know what? I'm sure Ryan Seacrest saw this episode of Family Guy and laughed. And then shared it with his boyfriend. What's so twisted about Mendes' ongoing crusade for straightness is that if someone were to accuse me of being straight, I would be flattered. The fact that the opposite - a straight man accused of being gay - can create an existential Mendes meltdown, doesn't make for compelling and relatable content. At least for Shawn's gay audience. Which, maybe, he doesn't have? If he did, he probably wouldn't say things like "I got upset because I know people who are gay who haven’t come out and I know the suffering they experience because of that." Like oohkay!

Interestingly, I tried to find some vintage Shawn Mendes gay memes for this post, and it appears that many accounts that posted Shawn Mendes gay memes were suspended from Twitter. Most of the tweets listed in this article are no longer available. Does this mean that Shawn Mendes went so far as to take legal action against those associating him with a homosexual lifestyle?
