Just when we thought we couldn't love Jason Momoa any more than we already do, he goes and hosts Saturday Night Live and proves us all wrong.
Before the show even aired, Momoa took us into the shower with him as part of the episode's promo material. It worked.
Momoa, who admits to being a fan of the show for as long as he can remember, gave one of the most memorable performances of the season (and possibly of the entire 44-season series) this past week. He took part in sketches that revived his Khal Drogo character from Game of Thrones, one that showed him as an "Elf on a Shelf," and another that let him strip on camera in front of all of America.
Yeah, you read that right. In a sketch titled "An Extra Christmas Carol," Momoa portrayed a very flamboyant ghost who visits Scrooge on Christmas morning - complete with robe fit for slightly Liberace (of he didn't know what rhinestones were), a shimmery cape and tiny go-go shorts.
Once the robe came off to reveal Momoa's washboard abs and tight, firm body, it was over. No matter what happened after seeing him dance against a bedpost to RuPaul's "Freaky Money," he had our undivided attention. No matter how many times I watch this scene, I still can't recall any lines said after the music hit.
The scene was so hot, even Scrooge himself couldn't resist the urge to join. By the end of it all, everyone - on stage and at home - was losing their shit over Momoa's character.
Could this be a preview of the next Magic Mike installment? Pray to the Gay Gods it happens. Until then, catch Momoa in Aquaman later this month.
