Disclaimer: Sorry, there are no political dick pics here (yet).
Gus Kenworthy was just as excited/scared/hopeful/terrified about election night as the rest of us. His interest was particularly piqued when it came to a gay former Marine Neil Rafferty winning a seat in Alabama's District 54.
A little backstory - Rafferty, who is definitely a thirst trap (to say the least), ran his first ever political campaign against an Independent opponent for the seat, which was open after the former LGBTQ-friendly representative chose to retire and not run for re-election. After receiving an endorsement from his predecessor, Rafferty won the seat by an 80-point margin!
Rafferty joined the Marines after his longtime boyfriend, Michael Rudolph had been deployed twice to Iraq as a Marine so they could stay together even though 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' was still in effect. He returned to Alabama, got his Bachelor's Degree, and works as the director of research and development at Birmingham AIDS Outreach.
Yeah, he's hot and humble.
It didn't take long for Olympian Gus Kenworthy to take notice of Rafferty after his win. Shortly after his success was announced, Kenworthy - who is super-fucking-hot in his own right - took to Twitter to share his opinion.
I have another seat for him: 🧔🏼 https://t.co/ba3ry1NK9p

We were all thinking it, but he said it! The Twitterverse, of course, responded. Here's a sample of some of the reactions:

Rafferty not only got Gus' stamp of approval, but I'm also considering a move to Alabama...
