After a great season of showing off his dance moves, which frankly remind me a lot of his skating moves, Adam Rippon could very well be the next champion of Dancing with the Stars. As a very devout Rippon fan, I have not been this excited about DWTS since Nyle DiMarco took home the mirror ball in season 22.
This past week, Adam and his partner Jenna Johnson performed to Coldplay's "O," a song he used in one of his routines in PyeongChang during the Winter Olympics. The performance was accompanied by a video that showed Adam talking about his coming out story.
The judges seemed moved by both Adam's song choice and moves on the dance floor. Bruno Tonioli said of the performance: "You were like two birds of paradise…It’s impossible to tell who is the professional."
"I just wanted to thank you. This is why artists create…to have moments like this where it’s just pure perfection," said Carrie Ann Inaba.
Adam also had trouble holding back after the performance, stating: "It’s crazy. The only thing that I’m thankful for is that I’m a beautiful crier."
The Olympic skater will be joined by Tonya Harding and Washington Redskins defensive back Josh Norman in the finale. No word on costumes, but I really hope it's something leather.
