There's been a lot of hype about the upcoming sequel to 2016's Deadpool over the past few months. It was recently revealed that there would be an addition to the cast in the form of a bisexual, polyamorous superhero named Shatterstar. After seeing him in action, I think Lewis Tan is the perfect addition to Ryan Reynold's team.
The 31-year-old actor isn't new to the biz. He's best known for his roles as Gaius Chou on AMC’s Into The Badlands and Zhou Cheng on Netflix’s Iron Fist. Still, neither of those can even begin to compare to the attention he's about to get for playing his latest character.
The character first appeared in the comics in the early 90s, but was labeled asexual for the first few years before being changed to bisexual and polyamorous. In 2009, his kiss with Rictor was the first gay kiss in a mainstream Marvel comic.
His abilities include using two swords to create shockwaves and teleportation portals, as well as accelerated healing. I sure wouldn't mind playing with his sword sometime.
There hasn't been any confirmation that Shatterstar's sexuality will play a vital part in the movie's plot, but it wouldn't be surprising considering the amount of innuendos and adult content we saw/heard in the first installment.
The Deadpool 2 premiere is set for May 18, but maybe these hot shots will help hold you over until then.
