Ode To The Jockstrap

"Where have all the jockstraps gone?" That's the question asked by "sports nut" (heh) Daniel Akst in a Slate article last Friday that rather elegantly referred to the athletic supporter as an "age-old bond between fathers and sons." Seems like fewer sons are wearing them, however: "At my local gym, I've been horrified to see young guys lifting weights with boxer shorts peeking out from their gym pants." Leaving behind the issue of why presumably heterosexual sports writers are checking out the crotches of young men while they're lifting weights, we think we know the answer to his question: all those jocks wound up on gay porn sets, of course.
