DVD: Chris Ward’s “Lords of the Jungle”

Chris Ward's "Lords of the Jungle" has all the hallmarks of a year-end big budget porn production to capitalize on last minute holiday giving and GAYVN Awards consideration: Exotic location? Check. A ten member (mostly) all star cast? Yup. Two-disc set? Got it. Press material that calls it "THE movie of the year"? That too. But at least the hype includes over two hours of cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage on its bonus disk. And we have to admit we're intrigued by the premise ("Ten Men. One Island. An Eruption of Lust and Desire", which makes it sound like a cross between "Lost" or "Survivor" as staged in an outdoor version of the West Side Club—to say nothing about the fact that the lineup reads like a veritable who's who of Fleshbot fandom. Maybe it's worth making some room for in our stockings after all?-RM/JD
