It might be too early in the year to call the Most Pretentious Blog-Based Male Art Nude Project of 2008, but we'd say the boys at Beautifulmag.eu are pretty strong contenders for the honor so far with the release of "The Prophecy", which was finally unveiled today after a series of suitably cryptic teaser posts on their website. Arriving with a soundtrack worthy of a mid-90s Enigma album complete with a voiceover reciting passage from the Book of Revelations, "The Prophecy" is an admittedly rather stunning three-part photo montage by artist Aymeric Giraudel starring several dozen (mostly male and nude) models; it's also being made available via free hi-res digital files so you can view and/or exhibit it on a suitably reverent monumental scale, provided you have enough glossy paper loaded up in your inkjet and enough blank wall space at your disposal. Despite all the sturm und drang of the presentation, it's a ... yes, pretty beautiful work of art, even if those ecclesiastical trappings are a bit over the top. With all those models singing their own bodies electric, who needs another soundtrack anyway?
