Today in Awards Show Emcees

It warms the cockles of our heart to hear the breaking news coming out of The Sword today that the hosts for this year's GAYVN Awards Ceremony have been chosen.

The Sword announced that the theme for this year's cock-o-rama awards show was "sports" though by the selection of this year's hosts, we were also saying "Kooky Combinations of Races and Orientations" for four hundred, Alex. Bisexual model, Janice Dickinson (who once hung up on us while we were interviewing her), comedian Margaret Cho, "Ugly Betty" actor Alec Mapa (whose character on UB was recently outed as a straight family man trapped in the suburbs) and "The Gay Sportscaster," Greg Sherrell, will all crowd the stage at The Castro Theatre in a fitting selection for a show that boasts 16,000 nominees in 157 thousand categories. Or something close. It's not really important.

What is important, is that it doesn't dampen our enthusiasm any less for an awards show that has reached a whoppingly huge gravitational pull on popular culture. That's change we believe in. Now, who are we going to bribe into escorting us to this event? Maybe our boy Blu Kennedy will take us!
