Hedi Slimane is Our Fucking Hero

He made his name as the avant garde designer for Dior Homme, but after a less-than-amicable split, he's not roving around the world taking pictures of nubile boys with their clothes off.

His latest editorial is for Vouge Hommes Japan hit the stands yesterday, and it's called "The Americans." We want to live in this Frenchman's take on American where all the boys are slim and toned, surf, wear crazy get ups, and paint the McDonald's logo on their face. No, Slimane doesn't veer far from his penchant for young, slim hipster boys (do he and Gus Van Sant share boy toys?), and that is just fine with us.

Mostly featuring very un-American looking models Victor Chambon and Derrick Pigford (where are the broad shouldered linebackers more associated with the U.S. of A., Hedi?) the shots are moody and beautiful although less patriotic than mom, apple pie, and Elvis dying on the john of a drug overdose. He may be a little off base, but that doesn't mean we still don't want to beat him up and steal his life.
