“Focus/Refocus” Will Save Gay Porn DVDs From Oblivion

We had barely finished our first meal at Raging Stallion's porn noir smorgasbord, but we are already back for seconds, and this helping was just as fulfilling. And we even got some extra man gravy.

While we don't want to focus too much on the plot so you can find out for yourself, but we find out that porn fanatic Joe (played by Cole Streets) is somehow entangled in a murder investigation that has something to do with a tape he received showing porn star Dario Stefano (Steve Cruz, never better) fucking two guys, one of whom is dead.

Lucky us, we get to see the scene and it is one of the best we've seen all year, featuring Cruz, Fleshbot Crush Object Ricky Sinz (remember him?!), and Adam Killian. Was Killian always this good and we didn't notice or is he especially good here? We can't remember, but they each take turns fucking and getting fucked and it is one hell of a three-way. We'd almost get killed just to watch it again.

The other great menage is a DP extravaganza with Ryan Raz riding the Double Stuff Express thanks to Jason Crew and newcomer Brogan Reed. While their scene was the only one that wasn't seamlessly woven into the action, we're still glad we got a chance to see these three cuties fuck in the back of a video store.

Cole Streets gets plenty of airtime not only in the B-Roll, but also swapping with Steve Cruz and getting rough fucked by David Taylor—who plays his boyfriend—in a romp that has to be witnessed to be believed.

The story ends nicely, if a bit predictably, and we dare say that there's even a bit of suspense toward the, uh, climax. The interrogation scenes between Streets and a cop never take off, and some of them in the second half are wincingly bad, but we'd rather have that than no effort made whatsoever.

The great thing about this movie—aside from the way it's shot, which we mentioned about part one—is that it is set in a wonderful gay fantasia. It takes place is the big pink bubble that gays in major cities tend to live in, where everyone and everything is gay, and things operate just a little bit differently. There is no trade, pretending to be straight, and there is no, "Oh, my girlfriends away" excuses. All the characters are a gay as $3 million bills, love the company of other men, have boyfriends, and aren't in denial about their carnal desires. That sounds just like real life (at least for people in New York and San Francisco), but the guys are hotter, the story involves murder, and we get to watch all the fucking we want. Who doesn't want to watch that?

The Extras are worthwhile, including the usual behind the scenes fare as well as a bonus solo by Cruz that's used in the film and another by muscle stud Mitchell Rock, who works as an extra in a scene. The real bonus is the POV disc that shows the whole movie as filmed by the hand-held cameras that are in just about every scene. It's a unique view on the action and as close to a "professional amateur" video that you're going to get outside of XTube, and it's all the better for it.
