Over the weekend our friends at The Sword were reporting that Next Door Entertainment had fired Mason Wyler from his eponymous website. Mason confirms while Next Door vehemently denies. So what, pray tell, is the dealio?
With MasonWyler.com's number of releases slowly dwindling over the past few months, it didn't come as too much of a shock that Mason was potentially parting ways with Next Door Entertainment—the parent company that owns his website. What was sort of shocking was the idea that he had been fired from his own website, a fact that Mason seemed to confirm on his blog. Why would Next Door Entertainment choose to "fire" Mason rather than simply shut down the site? Did they have plans to keep the webpage running with new models? And what exactly would be the point of that?
Now Next Door Studios' has released a statement on their blog strictly denying the aforementioned rumors:
Despite the rumors you can rest assured that Mason Wyler is still working with Next Door Studios and is still going to be performing on his site MasonWyler.com In fact in the coming weeks Mason will be doing something completely new and unique for his fans. Mason's site is being reformatted by Next Door to put the focus on live and interactive weekly shows versus pre-recorded content.
According to an update from Wyler himself, the transition to live streaming content is a means of getting around the pesky commute from his home in Texas to the Next Door Entertainment studios in Northern California. This makes a bit more sense. Apparently, Wyler is in the midst of reconnecting with his ex-boyfriend, Marcus, which is nice for him but bad for our "Mason Wyler is our new boyfriend" fantasies. Either way who could turn down the chance to work from home? (Certainly not us!)
