This one's for you, ladies! Well, it's supposed to be for you. Stayfree is hawking their winged maxi pads with three first-person "date commercials" each starring a gorgeous, mostly shirtless man.
Personally, we don't have much use for the pads, but those pecs! We could think of a lot of things to do with the gorgeous, not too beefy/not too skinny pectorals boasted by each commercial's respective model. With the camera acting as a silently nodding stand-in for the viewer, these commercials take you on dates in the beautiful, gigantic homes of three stunningly attractive and attentive men. These are men who cook, clean, handcraft toys for underprivileged orphans—you know, all that shit that lonely women fantasize about as they masturbate furiously before taking their usual nightcap of a pint of Haagen Dazs and a good cry.
Yeah, these ads play on some pretty boring old stereotypes, and even the intended novelty of objectifying male sexuality isn't all too novel. The other thing that bothers us is that these guys sort of come off like obnoxious, know-it-all pricks. Every man knows that he should never bother to express an opinion about pads or tampons to a woman, as this can only end with him sounding like an ignorant fool (or, well, this is what we were called the last time we tried). Still, even as we cringe with embarrassment for our gender, these guys are hot and it's pretty fun to watch fitness models ramble on and on about their hatred of unnecessary moisture.
