Don’t Call François Sagat A Pornstar

Sagat and photographer/video artist Elvis di Fazio (think Terry Richardson but smuttier) got together to make this anti-porn "proclomation." The tight shots of Sagat showering in nothing but a jockstrap and body paint are just a bonus.

Okay, so, pornstar/art freak François Sagat has his body painted with what looks like a football uniform. He is then filmed showering the body paint off and that video is played in reverse to make it look like he's getting dressed (what is with people making reverse videos today?). We get that. Now, we don't get this so much: "[Sagat] sees himself as more of a performance artist than ‘porn star' and simply uses this industry as a vehicle for self-expression."

Okay, maybe we do get it. We can see why François would want to dissociate himself from the narrowly defined "pornstar" label. He definitely does way more varied and interesting projects than your average pornstar, but that's our favorite thing about him. He may not be the average pornstar, but he's a pornstar, one who's been expanding our notions of what a pornstar is and does. We feel like he should be setting an example for artsy porn-types everywhere, not trying to cut himself off from them. But then again, it's kind of hard to feel anything other than our jeans tightening when we watch this video.
