Gay Porn Magazines Come Back from the Dead!

After decades of being the only thing to beat off to, there is currently not one gay porn magazine in circulation. Well, that's all about to change. Mandate is coming back from the dead. It's like a porn zombie!

Maveti Media, who made titles like Mandate, Inches, Honcho, Torso, and others, just announced that Mandate will be out on the shelves next week (just in time for its 36th anniversary) and that Inches will also get a print run in March. Your gay uncle is so excited! He still hasn't figured out XTube, so he'll finally have something to look at while slapping the salami. Maveti shuttered all it's gay titles in May 2009, so it took them awhile to get them back, but we're glad that it's happening.

But in this age of internet porn—where even DVD sales are slackening off—is there still a demand for gay smut rags? Thanks to Levi Johnston, Playgirl is back from the dead and having some success as a quarterly, even though it isn't explicitly gay. It's always been our stance that the porn rag is pretty much obsolete, but it's nice to have them around, if only to remind the straight dudes looking for a copy of Juggs that there are gay smuthounds out there too. So, do everyone a favor and go pick up a copy of Mandate in your porn store or gay book shop when it comes out. Even if for old time's sake.
