Great pornstar romances always send our heart aflutter, which makes it all the more dreadful when they come crashing down in a mire of abuse, stabbings and jailtime. Hence is the bitter end of the once perfect relationship between Phillip Aubrey and Spencer Reed.
Art certainly does not imitate life. On screen, Spencer was the dominating top to Phillip's hungry blond bottom. Off screen was a different, more sordid story. This past weekend, Phillip drunkenly attacked Spencer with a knife, resulting in the latter ending up in the hospital with 27 stitches, and the former ending up in jail with charges of assault and attempted possession of a prohibited weapon.
"It was not self defense and this was not the first time i have been attacked severely by Phillip," Spencer told The Sword, "I have kept my lips sealed about the abuse and violence i have suffered and it was time to let it out."
We completely retract the myth we believed here, and are mortified we could ever thought these thoughts here.
Spencer has been extremely vocal all over his Twitter, while Phillip has remained mum, except for this record from the District of Columbia Courts:
Déjà vu. All this is truly terrible, but there are two sides to every story. There is, of course, no excuse for stabbing a boyfriend, or anyone, unless it's in self-defense. However, we also wonder why Phillip would so publicly speak about such a horrid event, or how, while in the hospital after such an ordeal, one would think, "Oh, time to update my Twitter with the brutal realities of my personal life." Having hardcore sex on camera with one's boyfriend for all to see is so ultimately public, that gritty, shocking revelations of domestic abuse must water off duck's back.
Whatever the full story, we wish Spencer a full and speedy recovery. We also wonder what Phillip has to say about this. In any case, scenes like the one below, which were once sexy as sin, now feel sinfully unsettling.
