Pornsites Need to Stop Peddling Years-Old Scenes As Brand New

People pay a pretty penny to jerk off to pornsites over the web, particularly sites that promise updated content on a weekly basis. Looks like "updated" doesn't necessarily mean "new." Several sites, most with the same owners, have started recycling scenes from years ago, updating the performers ages, and peddling them as new. This bullshit has got to stop.

Credit must be given to the blog Men of Porn, whose writer and commentors have an impressive autistic-level memory of every porn scene and star ever, their multiple names, and the dates and titles of each and every scene. Here are their discoveries about shifty, tricky websites:

Last Thursday, MenOver30.com released a scene from 3 years ago from ExtraBigDicks.com, with a different title and updated ages to make it appear brand spanking new. Sneaky, except they forgot to update the ages in the cut-and-pasted scene description.



Then CircleJerkBoys.com recycled a scene this month that also initially premiered on ExtraBigDicks.com...in 2010. What subterfuge!



In another act of pornsite deception, last week ActiveDuty.com recycled a scene from a year ago from AmateurStraightGuys.com.



Certainly it's hard to constantly create a never ending conveyor belt of fresh content. While recycling old scenes isn't the end of porn ethics (is there such a thing?) as we know it, sites should at least admit that they're "borrowing" an old scene from another site, instead of pawning it off as new to unsuspecting subscribers. Even Bel Ami recycles scenes, but calls them "Flashbacks" to make us aware they're old.

Perhaps we're a bit annoyed by this pornsite shell game, having fallen victim to it ourselves. Last year, Suite703.com tricked us into thinking Kurt Wild had un-retired by re-releasing an old scene, but not stating it was recycled. Or when we dramatically announced Pass Around Party Bottom Jason Crystal was returning to porn, when his scene was actually over a year and a half old. It may not have been technically recycled, but it tricked us by being released such a long time after it was actually shot...and Cedric does not like to be fooled!

All porn studios film scenes months in advance, but to recycle, reuse, repackage and give the impression that it's new to paying customers is quite a racket. Porn scenes grow stale quickly, making the industry dependent on a steady flow of fresh content. Stop trying to cheat us.
