Parole Him Makes Us Reconsider Pot Decriminalization

New Yorkers lamenting the recent demise of Governor Cuomo's marijuana decriminalization bill, or anyone feeling high and horny, might find some release accepting the way things are with Parole Him's recent PotHead video.

Poor, young Anthony Mose has already served a week of jail time for light possession charges. So, you can imagine the indignation when his parole officer threatens to add two more years of jail with false trafficking allegations. But like Tim Robbins in Shawshank Redemption, Anthony has a hole through which to escape his prison sentence. Officer Thompson plunges that hole thoroughly, and security cameras capture it all on tape--with strategic zoom-ins, even!

The whole conceit makes us queasy, to be honest, which is not to say it doesn't arouse us too. It seems appropriate for the week of July 4th to explore exaggerated power games in our land we call America. If only this were more fantastical!
