Rod Daily Announces Retirement: “I’m HIV Positive”

In a rather frank set of tweets this morning, former Next Door exclusive and gay-for-pay staple Rod Daily announced his immediate retirement after testing positive for HIV. The performer began questioning his status on Twitter last week after his girlfriend, female performer Cameron Bay, told The Free Speech Coalition she was HIV+.

Additionally, Daily says he has no plans of filming bareback porn in the future in order to protect himself from a potentially destructive super strain:

He's being commended by many for openly disclosing his new status, becoming somewhat of a role model for those who fight the stigma associated with HIV (like Anton Dickson, who started the conversation in the comments thread on a previous Fleshbot post). There's no telling if Rod will become an activist or voice working to destigmatize the disease (or whether he'll come out of retirement like everyone else), but one thing's for sure—Rod Daily is still a sexy motherfucker with a whole lot of people anxious to work with him:
