Poster & Stills Released For ‘Chocolate City’ AKA Blagic Mike

Jean-Claude La Marre has been called "The Dirty Tyler Perry" by me just now after reading his imdb page, and for good reason. He's got an entire series of films that he's directed and starred in, in which he plays a character named Pastor Jones. Well he's reprising that role for his latest directorial effort, Chocolate City, which, as the tagline suggests, is the black Magic Mike, or Blagic Mike another term I just coined.

Indiewire (link below) brings us that poster and the following stills from the film, which stars Tyson Beckford and Michael Jai White--which, if you haven't seen Black Dynamite, stop what you're doing and watch it--and promises to be a rip-roaring good time for anyone who buys a ticket.

"Chocolate City" will follow, Devin... a young college student struggling to make ends meet who meets the owner of a male strip club who convinces him to give amateur night a whirl.

Jai White will play the owner of the strip club, while Beckford will play the club’s former star attraction, whose star is now fading, thanks to the upstart kid who's moving in.

Director LaMarre (who most recently helmed the "Gang of Roses" movies) says that the project is one he's been developing for a couple of years, as he researched the male strip club scene, eventually realizing how immensely popular it is.

The film is currently in post-production and set to debut next year.
