The “Magic Mike” Trailer Needs To Show More Skin

Well, boys and bois, it's finally here: The official trailer to "Magic Mike", a.k.a. "Showgirls" for gay men. Except, looks like the producers are trying to do anything they can to not cater to gay men. Take a look. What do you think?

This is a movie about male strippers, right? It stars the epitome of today's hunkiness: Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, and Joe Manganiello. The trailer, however, is all about "women" and "relationships," with a minimum of bare manflesh. It's all about Tatum (a.k.a. Magic Mike) being fawned over by gaggles of gals, or by one lone girlie -- Cody Horn. And it's about Cody Horn's character trying to figure out if there's something deeper to Magic Mike than stripping, and Magic Mike trying to prove it. Because the sex object just wants real love with a woman, because he's not gay, because no men in the film are gay, because this is not a movie for gays, because this is a film for women who want romance, and this is a film for straight men who want to imagine themselves as sex gods. YAAAAAAAAWN. Zzzzzzzzzz....

The trailer really needs to be a montage of the film's hunks stripping before a camera that caresses their smooth bare flesh. That's. It.

To show what we wish the trailer (and the film) should concentrate on, below is a clip from a German TV show called "Der Letzte Bulle," or "The Last Bull." How much would you bet that none of the highly-payed Hollywood beefcake go as far as this blond bowling lane stripper?
