The scenario may appeal to some, and it gets them off thinking about it.

And for some, the one portion of gay porn clue (TM) that they love may trump the others.

This is most visible when someone tries to do something different in porn, and someone usually leaves a blog comment that's like:

It's porn! Someone sucks a dick. Someone rims an asshole, and then he sticks his dick in that asshole, moves it around until he cums. It's porn. Stop making it complicated.

And...while that comment is so...tawdry (and probably shows why so many have such unfulfilling sex / sex lives, is he really wrong?

Let's take one of the most popular gay films of all time, "Taking Flight" from Falcon Studios. We'll talk about part 1 and 2 to make it easy.

Most people were connected to the porn stars (Then-boyfriends Rob Romoni and Matthew Rush starring in their first on-camera scene together, Jason Adonis starring in one of his first scenes, Josh Weston - RIP) and the studio (Falcon being the powerhouse that it was / is, making great porn).

Though some were interested in the mile-high-based sex (or sex on a plane while everyone else - including your sister - is asleep), it took a backseat to the other elements of gay porn clue(TM) and was there to drive the story forward.

However, the creative director behind Raging Stallion / Hot House / Falcon Studios (since they're all one studio) may have taken this comment to heart.

Or, at least, that's how I postulate.

They may have realized that many of us don't care much about the scenarios. In fact, MOST of the complaints about porn scenes come FROM the scenarios. Whether they be too contrived, not contrived enough, they overemphasized the fact that the guy is straight (or made a gay guy pretend like he was straight), or they caged them away for two days before they could fuck.

So in the game of gay porn clue(TM) Falcon / Raging / Hot House said to hell with the scenarios, and went to their current format of two boys fucking on a soundstage with cute lights.

I understand it from their point of view - they don't have to worry about sets or scenarios, it's cheaper to produce (swap out some boxes and some lights), and it lets you focus on the sex.

But it takes all the fantasy out of porn.

Yes, the porn features two guys we'd never get to have sex with in real life, doing the 'do. But that's where it stops. At least before you could fantasize about having sex on a plane, or with a nervous straight guy, but can anyone honestly say they've had really beautiful sex on a soundstage, surrounded by colored lights?

And to break the fourth wall, as an editor, it's really hard to write about these scenes - that's why you've seen me write about less and less of them. How do you write about these scenes?
