This is perhaps one of the genius gay art projects we have ever seen. An anonymous artist has taken to drawing pictures from Craiglist ads. The results are hilarious, insightful, and at times rather erotic.
We don't know if it's because the artist behind "Reply to This Post" couldn't find nude models or is making some sort of comment on the sad, faceless culture of gay internet hook ups, but his idea to illustrate what he finds in the m4m section of what Margaret Cho calls the "Penny Saver of Dick" is quite brilliant. Anyone who has spent time looking for someone to fill their holes on the site's bland pages will know most of these pictures all too well: the close up cock shot, the spread-cheeked asshole, the face-obscuring chest picture. He's also added the headline of the ads to give a flavor of what the subject was looking for and in some cases included the actual text of the ad. The drawings themselves are a bit like Craigslist, spare, no-frills, a bit personal, and sexy in a voyeuristic sort of way. We can't wait to see what ads are going to be taken on next—and just pray one isn't ours.
