Now He’s On That Great Big Porn Set In The Sky

There aren't many icons still around from gay porn's early years, and it's sad that we lost a legend yesterday. Jack Wrangler passed away in a New York hospital from lung cancer.

Wrangler made about 85 movies, both gay and straight, including the early gay classic "Kansas City Trucking Co." He also had a thing for sequels, starring in the second parts of classic movies "The Devil in Miss Jones, Part II," "Debbie Does Dallas, Part II" and "Behind the Green Door, the Sequel."

Though he is a gay, he married female cabaret star Margaret Whiting in 1994, and they were still a couple when he passed. He gained a good deal of attention in the past few years when the movie "Wrangler: An Anatomy of an Icon" made the festival circuit and was released on DVD. The film looks at his entire life from a privileged upbringing in Hollywood through his porn career and unconventional marriage.

It's ironic now that so many pictures of the amazingly virile stud show him holding a cigarette, but we guess even the Marlboro man can fall prey to his vice. Tonight, let's all watch one of Jack's old scenes and give him the kind of 21-gun salute that would have driven him wild.
