Pornstar Lesson Du Jour: You Never Get Over Being A Fat Kid

Porn is full of former fat kids looking to gain the acceptance that they never got on the playground. Even though they're hot now, body image issues still come up. Just ask RJ Danvers.

After our Furry Ferret of Love posted some delish new pics from Raging Stallion's upcoming "Rear Deliveries" on his blog, Queer Me Now fired off a glib remark about how he "needs to eat more." RJ, who we know wasn't nearly as svelte in high school, answered back that around the time the pictures were taken, he was going through some stuff in his personal life and wasn't eating or sleeping right and lost some weight.

That is a perfectly acceptible answer, but, know what, he doesn't have anything to justify! Look at the evidence, he doesn't look nearly as skinny as half of the ultra-thin twinks out there in porndom. There are no visible ribs or sunken cheeks. RJ's crime is that he's a hairy, toned, butch bottom who doesn't fit into the industry's easy categories. In porn, we either want the boys to be effiminate, hairless waifs or macho, hairy, muscle men. Just because RJ isn't carrying as much weight as his Raging Stallions stablemates doesn't mean he's not as desirable or has some sort of eating disorder.

There seems to be a lot about recovering fat kids today. Steve Cruz posted an interview with bodybuilder Vince Ferelli, one of the stars of the upcoming "Red Light," on his blog. Ferelli talks about how growing up "husky" still effects him today and how it lead him into the weight room. For people like Vince and RJ negative comments about their bodies—even that they're too skinny—dredge up all those years of schoolyard taunting.
