To tell you the truth, we're not terribly invested in the various behind-the-scenes intrigues that are a constant part of the gay porn scene; it might be interesting every now and then to know about such-and-such's contract dispute or drug problem, but in the end is any of that sort of thing on yor mind when you turn on a porn DVD and settle down for a nice long session of ... uh, whatever you watch porn DVDs for. So when we received a series of emails and press releases over the course of the day from now-former COLT men Adam Champ and Carlo Masi announcing that they had rather abruptly decided to part ways with the venerable studio, we were less interested in the whys and wherefores of the whole story than the fact that said emails and press releases arrived with a bunch of sexy photos of the two attached. After all, as long as they're still taking their clothes off somewhere we don't really have much to worry about, do we?
Check out the photos (and read the press release, if that's your thing) after the jump.
. . .
The years that I, Carlo Masi, and Adam Champ spent at COLT were filled with satisfaction and thrilling surprises, but as everyone knows nothing last forever.
It came time for us to split from the famous company and take on the porn industry as independent models.
On Friday the 11th of January, after a heavy exchange of emails, we took the decision not to sign the exclusive contract for 2008.
Many reasons led us to this decision: the most obvious of which are that we couldn't find a money agreement that made both parties happy, that both I and Adam wanted more control of our image, and that the close and trusting relationship between ourselves and some of the key members of the COL staff had unfortunately lessened over time.
This year has been filled with success, both for me and for Adam, so there couldn't be a better moment to take back control of our image.
For both of us COLTstudio will always have a special place in our hearts, and we will forever be grateful to John Rutherford for all he has done over the years. Beautiful trips, special people and the warmth of our many fans around the world are just the beginning of a long list of things for which we will always be in indebted to COLT.
Our decision was taken only a few days ago, so we are still reviewing our options and organizing future work. The future for both Adam and me is a big book of empty pages, all waiting to be filled with new and exciting adventures.
At the moment we are weighing the many proposals that have arrived in our e-mail inboxes. We have scheduled a number of events in Spain, Italy and Argentina for January and February, and we are also working to be present as always on the Internet.
The most difficult knot to undo in terms of our definitive separation from COLT concerns our web sites (for this reason we are not currently doing web shows), our blogs and our e-mails. In fact, COLTstudio is not only the owner of our professional images but also of our web sites, blogs and e-mail addresses.
For the moment we are building a temporary blog, and we just bought new e-mail addresses.
Our web sites will be reachable at www.Carlo-Masi.com, www.Adam-Champ.com. In the next week a temporary version will be launched.
This is a thrilling moment, as the future is filled with exciting prospects.
A big hug to everyone, and stay tuned!
Yours truly, Carlo and Adam
