Take Your DAVID Award And Shove It: Gay Porn Award Drama!

Claiming that the winner somehow "bought" the trophy is a common enough complaint in any type of media award ceremony (especially when it's those who didn't win the award are doing the complaining.) But in the case of the DAVID gay porn awards that were handed out at the Venus Erotic Expo in Berlin last week, things are even murkier: several producers claim that the organizers of the awards told them explicitly that they'd only be nominated if they paid for advertising or sponsorship, and Titan's Bruce Cam declined a Lifetime Achievement Award in protest of the numerous low-end bareback titles that were to be honored at the ceremony as well. Whether this spells the end of the DAVID awards remains to be seen. (Though to tell the truth, it won't be much of a loss if it disappears, since you should just pay attention to a reputable, completely objective porn award outfit like GAYVN anyway. Right?)
