This past weekend, pop singer Aaron Carter came out as bisexual in an emotional letter to his fans via Twitter.
In his letter, Carter said that it “doesn’t bring me shame, just a weight and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like lifted off of me.” He added: “There were years that went by that I thought about it, but it wasn’t until I was 17-years-old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with.”
His letter comes just after his latest run-in with the law that resulted in a DUI arrest last month.
The outpour of love from those of us who knew Aaron's music back in the day (I mean, he was the only kid who could beat Shaq!), as well as his new generation of fans that are inspired by his new music, was astounding. Many took to social media to show their support.
Wait...what!!! @aaroncarter came out as bisexual?!? All my childhood dreams are coming true.

While the majority of us were all a bit stunned and overall supportive, others like Olympic speed skater Blake Skjellerup chose to show support in other ways. Skjellerup posted a sexy pic of himself in some new undies to celebrate Aaron's bravery. He captioned the post: “Today is a good day… Aaron Carter, the boy responsible for my homosexual awakening, likes boys… and girls.”
Umm... I came out a long time ago, but I'd most definitely do it all over again to get some hunky supporters like Blake.
As for Aaron, we commend his courage to live his life openly and honestly. It took a lot to do what he did, and his future will be brighter because of it.
Also, Aaron, if you need anyone to show you the ropes, feel free to hmu anytime. Seriously.
