Disney's live-action version of Aladdin finally has its lead. Mena Massoud, who is currently in the Amazon series Jack Ryan, has been cast to fill the role of everyone's favorite handsome thief/heartthrob.
While the jury's still out on whether or not Mena can belt out "A Whole New World," we know he can definitely look the part of a hunky street urchin.
Soon after the announcement at the Disney D23 Expo in southern California, Mena took to Twitter to show his gratitude for being offered the role.
So honored & grateful for the opportunity to help bring this magical story to life once again. Let's get to work! #Aladdin #Disney https://t.co/itxmiDHtLL

We can't wait to see Mena in costume for the role, which if we remember correctly includes an open vest and some fairly loose pants. Other parts have also been cast for the project. English actress Naomi Scott will play the role of Jasmine, and Will Smith has been cast to play the Genie.
There's no word so far on when the movie is going to be released, but we'll try and be patient. Til then, let's enjoy some more of Mena's sexy Instagram posts.
We're keeping our fingers crossed in hopes of getting a glimpse of his magic carpet.
