Andrew Garfield Comes Out, But Not Really

In a recent interview where he discussed his current on-stage role as Lewis Ironside in Angels in America, Andrew Garfield discussed his sexuality... sort of.

As the questions went on, Andrew opened up about his newfound love for RPDR. He said, "My only time off during rehearsals – every Sunday I would have eight friends over and we would just watch Ru. This is my life outside of this play."

We can definitely see the joy in that. Mama Ru is fucking amazing and something tells us Andrew is a Valentina fan, too. So his statement started out cool, but then it got a little weird.

He continued, "[Watching Drag Race] is my life outside of this play. I am a gay man right now just without the physical act – that’s all." 

Uh, what??

So the internet blew up. Many were appalled that he basically inferred that you must be at least a little gay if you watch RPDR.

Just when the gay mafia was getting its bedazzled pitchforks ready, Andy Boy explained himself. He admitted, "as far as I know, I am not a gay man. Maybe I’ll have an awakening later in my life, which I’m sure will be wonderful and I’ll get to explore that part of the garden, but right now I’m secluded to my area, which is wonderful as well,” he said. 

That was a close one, but everyone needs a reality check sometimes. Andrew, consider this your last chance to impress us and save yourself from elimination. Good luck... and don't fuck it up.
