Idris Elba Is People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive

We've been waiting a while for this. It's been a long time coming. British actor and major Hollywood hunk, Idris Elba, has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2018.

Elba, who totally deserves the honor bestowed upon him, was shocked when the mag informed him of the decision.

"I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?’" he said, referring to his response to the news. "Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure."

The 46-year-old appeared via satellite from London on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as the host made the official announcement. After giving some poses for the camera, Elba said, "My mom is going to be very, very proud."

I know what you're thinking: "What exactly makes Idris Elba so sexy?" Well, I'm glad you asked. Instead of explaining it to you, perhaps a nice visual will suffice.

That. All of it. That is what the Sexiest Man Alive looks like in 2018.

He also shared that he tries to live his life without regrets. "Life isn’t about thinking about what you should have done," he said. "I think everyone should adopt the philosophy that tomorrow is not promised so just go for it today. You might as well do it to your heart’s content."

Fans reacted to the decision much more positively than they did last year when Blake Shelton received the title.
