RuPaul Is Killing It For LGBTQ Hollywood

CELEBRITY

I feel like ever since RDPR got moved over to Logo's parent channel, VH1, RuPaul's been so busy making money our heads are spinning. The Janice Dickinson of Drag, Mama Ru, recently announced a deal with Hulu for a biopic about his life, and now Netflix is also wanting a slice of the RuPie.

The streaming site has teamed up with the legendary drag queen for a show titled AJ and the Drag Queen, in which Ru plays Ruby Red, a “bigger-than-life but down-on-her-luck drag queen” who travels across America in a rundown RV, accompanied by a wise-cracking 11-year-old orphan called AJ.

Every episode will also include a "killer musical number" from Ruby Red inside a series of different drag clubs.

The two-time Emmy winner will write and executive produce the show alongside Michael Patrick King, who also brought us shows like Sex and the City (which you may have heard of) and CBS' Two Broke Girls.

You can also catch RuPaul as Corny the Unicorn in WOW Presents' Drag Tots next month. The cartoon series will also star RPDR alum Adore Delano, Bianca Del Rio, Latrice Royale, Detox, and Valentina - who will play baby drag queens that take advice from a magical unicorn head. Sounds legit.

In addition to Ru's latest deals with a few major networks, he is also releasing a new collection of makeup products in collaboration with US-based beauty company, Mally Beauty.

And don't worry, Drag Race fans, no word on Ru leaving the franchise just yet. I'm sure Mama Ru will still be sending queens who don't know lyrics to songs home for a long, long time.
