It's obvious that Tom Hardy is completely ok with playing characters that have the most jacked bodies and no face. First he had us all pitching tents as Bane in The Dark Knight (2008), and now he's going to play Spider-Man's arch nemesis in the upcoming Marvel spinoff Venom. I mean, in his defense we weren't really interested in anything going on above the neck when he played Bane, and we will most likely feel the same when he portrays the anti-hero next October.
According to a report from Metro, Tom has been hitting the gym five days a week (sometimes moire than once per day) with two trainers in order to get jacked for his new role. The British actor and his trainers, Mark Mene and Pro MMA fighter Nathan Jones, have gone into 'beast mode' at an Atlanta gym where the film is being shot.
Nathan even praised Tom's workout ethic in a behind-the-scenes video that shows him in the middle of his routine.
Keep in mind Tom played an MMA fighter in 2011's Warrior, so he's not exactly new to this.
I know you're as excited as I am to see Tom on screen as Venom while he's buff and fuckable as ever, but we'll all have to wait until the film hits theaters on October 5, 2018. Remember good things come to those who wait!
