In an era of putting out content for the sake of putting out content - some with a lack of quality - it can feel like gay porn has reached its peak, and there's nowhere to go from here.

Thankfully there are some studios trying to go above and beyond. Next Door Studios is attempting to put some of the fantasy back in porn and revive the "5 scenes make a movie" format, with features like "Cheating Faith". Cockyboys has won awards for its documentaries and mockumentaries - it's latest is the "One Erection" mockumentary.

However, NakedSword may be one-upping everyone - they recently released an independent film arm:

NakedSword Film Works - or NSFW for short, and if you need to add some confusion to your life - will showcase new work from independent film workers. It will go a step past your standard porn and lean "toward the provocative, the experimental and the explicit" - think if "Black Spark" came out in 2016, it would be showcased here.

Its first film? Brontez Purnell’s "100 Boyfriends Mixtape". Purnell is the wild child of the Bay Area’s queer underground, and 100 Boyfriends Mixtape is his brash, explicit rendering of boys, bullshit and bedrooms.
