The Walk (2015) tells the story of Frenchie Philippe Petit who famously tightrope walked across the gap between the two World Trade Center Towers in 1974. If you have a fear of heights make sure to bring an extra pair of panties to the theater because director Robert Zemeckis shot the high flying scenes in IMax 3-D, and supposedly the shots are "Scary!" - Chicago Tribune, "Breathtaking!" - USA Today, and "My fucking worst nightmare!" - me.
Critics are creaming their pants over the flick, slated for wide release tomorrow. If you saw the Oscar-winning documentary Man on Wire (2008), and thought "How the hell are they going to make this into a movie?" then you aren't as Oscar-hungry as Sony Pictures because apparently they did it pretty well. The film also stars a Party City wig from the Lena Dunham costume.
Speaking of a tightrope that I'd like to balance on, the ageless Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the titular character, and with his little artistic getups and adorable french accent is so cute you just wanna put him in your pocket, and then your face. Before hitting the theater tomorrow to destroy a ten dollar bucket of popcorn let's take a look at Joseph's gravity defying body in the NC-17 Mysterious Skin (2004).
