Dan Savage’s “Hump Tour” Comes to NYC this Weekend

Now in its ninth year, sex columnist Dan Savage's "Hump Tour" will be bringing more than 20 amateur short porn films to New York City this weekend.

There's something for everyone: gay, straight, fetish, traditional. The only requirement Savage has is that the films are made by amateurs, and that they sex in a positive light.

'No poop, no animals, no children rule — but other than that, these films give a picture of just how diverse human sexual expression is. Usually people only watch the porn that turns them on,' says Savage. 'At "Hump,"  you end up with a room full of straight people cheering for gay porn, and gay people cheering for straight porn. It becomes a celebration of sex.'

With titles like D&D Orgy, Hot 'n Saucy Pizza Boy, E.T. 2: Dark Territory, and the claymation centaur-themed flick Mythic Proportions, it sounds as if there really is something for everyone.

Unfortunately if you're not in or near New York City this weekend, you're S.O.L.

None of the films is online or available anywhere but at an official 'Hump' screening. Not even still images from the movies are being released. After the last screening in this nationwide tour, the DVDs will all be destroyed. This allows participants to 'be a porn star for the weekend, not the rest of their lives,' Savage explains. With this safety net in place, the writer predicts plenty of New Yorkers will be inspired to submit their own original work for next year's festival — which confers $1,000 prizes on audience faves.
