Mason Wyler Still Making Films, and Maybe That’s Okay

Mason Wyler Still Making Films, and Maybe That's OkayLove him or hate him, crazy Mason Wyler, despite coming out as HIV+, has no intention of leaving the industry. We’re beginning to think that may be a good thing.

Looking at the stills from his film with SexGaymes.tv with Christian Owens, we’re less inclined to think of the scandal from a few months back, and more about how much of a hottie he still is, remaining in excellent shape, and looking as scrumptious as ever. However, an important part of his sexiness in this scene is that he’s playing safe.

Of course, men with HIV can have satisfying sex lives, too, as long as they keep the goods covered to not spread the virus any more that it already has. As with Mason, as long as he plays safe, watching him get off still turns us on.

Update: Well, it turns out we were glaringly inaccurate. The scene is not new and is from the filmTKO, made way back in 2007. We jumped to conclusions and our wrists have been duly slapped.

Why shouldn’t an HIV+ man be able to do porn? HIV has many side-effects, but losing your sexual identity isn’t one of them.

Embarrassing. Cedric you realize this scene is around four years old? Your ignorance is only surpassed by your stupidity about an industry you’re supposed to be an expert on.

You’re doing this site a major disservice.

I agree with Cedric. I fervently hope that Mason Wyler continues to do safe porn, not bareback porn. Judging by his comments to the public after the Dark Alley film, I doubt that will happen, as he seemed unrepentant. But if he surprises us all and develops a conscience, then I’m willing to give him another chance. I won’t forget or forgive his past, but I’m willing to start fresh with my fandom.

I realize this post is well-intentioned and comes from a good place, but it also comes off as incredibly condescending and outdated. Being seropositive doesn’t magically transform someone into a fuggo (much less after a month), and to suggest that this is the case recalls the worst kinds of ignorance and prejudice from the past two decades.

Moreover, the whole post presupposes that one is somehow a priori in a position to judge the sexual actions of seropositive people according to a more important, “rigorous” moral scale than that used for seronegative people. Do you intend to have similar posts entitled “[Insert Seronegative Pornstar Here] Is Still Fucking for Cash, and Maybe That’s Okay” in the near-future as well? Seropositive pornstars are neither new, nor rare.

In the future, please try to deal with this stuff more delicately and intelligently, or at least in a way that doesn’t reek of 1992. Or, simply stick with the shirtless celebrities and generic wankoff fodder. I don’t need kneejerk moralisms from my porn blog, thanks.
