His site, MasonWyler.com, hasn’t been updated since July. His blog, WylerNation.com, has been deleted. Debate was heated as to whether or not he should continue filming porn. The popular conclusion was he could do as he liked, as long as he played safe with a condom.

Or not.

    And since you asked my opinion, I’m pretty ambivalent about the idea of bareback porn (I’m one of those fussy bitches who wants to see straight porn stars wrap it up, too.) — but I have no patience for the sites that fetishize HIV transmission.

    I’m disappointed in Mason. I was hoping that maybe he wouldn’t go the route that Jeff Palmer and other former “big names” have. But I guess a boy’s got to eat…not that it excuses the behavior.

    If what we’ve seen on Wyler’s blog and non-porn video clips (outtakes, etc.) is really his personality (as in, the man whose porn persona is “Mason Wyler”), then I’m not surprised — he’s admitted more than a few times that he is a sex addict. HIV isn’t going to get in his way if he wants sex…and yes, that should scare anyone who crosses paths with him.

    Maybe I’m naive but I always assumed that “breeding” referred to unprotected sex where the top ejaculates in the bottom’s anus, regardless of either’s HIV status.

    I have never heard this term used, as it has been in this article, to mean a negative bottom being infected on purpose by a positive top. The term I have heard used to describe this is “bugchasing,” or simply “chasing.”

    I think the distinction between “breeding” and “bugchasing” is significant. For example, I myself have “bred” with my partner but have never “chased.”

    Regardless, I have never been to this particular pornsite but have always assumed that men performing in bareback porn are HIV+. Further, one of the rules we have all been told over and over again is to assume that the people we have sex with are HIV+ until we know otherwise. I must conclude that all porn stars, including the gay ones having sex with Mason Wylers, have taken whatever precautions they feel necessary.

    Either way, it is their decision to participate in the activity and its filming. Our only judgment is whether to watch it or not.
