Maverick had been working on a book detailing his early pornographic misadventures. To drum up some publicity for the project, he decided to leave his retirement from the porn industry to do a solo scene for his old friends at Falcon Studios. Falcon, it seems, was excited about having him back until they got him to send in his more recent body shots. This is the response he got:

Thanks for sending in the new photos. Unfortunately I’m not confident you would be able to get your body to the point it needs to be for a solo this Summer. Keep working out and contact me again when you feel you are in tip top shape and ready to be shot again.
Now, it’s no secret that we love beefy, older men, so maybe this is one of those cases where we’ve been blinded from the truth by our own fetishes. But we think Clay looks seriously incredible in these new photographs. Sure he’s got a little bit of extra padding on his torso, but he’s still buff and cute. Check out the picture of younger Clay and older Clay below and you’ll see that he really hasn’t changed all that much. As for Mr. Maverick himself, he seems to be taking the whole thing like a champ and using it as an excuse to get back in shape, which we can’t really fault him for. Still, The fact that this is his “out-of-shape” shape is pretty amazing.
