RuPaul Wants To Give Us A Big Wet Thank You Kiss

We told you about RuPaul's latest porn-inspired video, but little did we know that Fleshbot actually inspired it. We called up Ms. Paul to chat about her single and her favorite porn stars.

She was so gracious to take some time out on a very busy day when the finale of her hit show "RuPaul's Drag Race" is set to air on Logo at 10pm. Check it out, or watch some porn instead. That's what Ru will be doing!

Fleshbot: So I heard you saw all our crazy Japanese porn mashups on Fleshbot. Why did you love them?

RuPaul: Yes, I was inspired by that. Drag is really all about sampling and taking a litte bit form here and there.

The humor and the sense about taking sexuality especially explicit sexuality and saying it's not going to hurt you, it's all fun. That's what make sit so alluring. As an American it's so funny to see how the Japanese can make something look very quirky and kid-like and funny and I adore that. In our culture we're such a puritanical society, anytime sexuality and sexy is demystified, I'm all for it.

That's why I love pornstars and sex workers. They're my heroes. They have fought the establishment and become champions of sexuality and heroes of anyone who has ever been told you can't do that.

Why do you think "Jealous Of My Boogie" was an appropriate song for one of these crazy videos?

It was going to be my next single so we had to do something. It was kismet. A lot of people in our culture think of drag queens as something that they're not so proud of. The song is saying don't be jealous of my boogie, it's saying live your own life and don't blame drag for gay people not being taken seriously. Don't take me seriously, you can take me anyway you want, but don't take me seriously!

Why did you use Tommy Gunn?

World of Wonder [who produced the video] has a long relationship with Vivid, so it was a perfect fit, and they were so excited about using the footage. I'm not so sure how he feels about it. He's always been one of my favorites, though

Do you have any favorite pornstars?

Are you kidding! I collect porn stars like baseball cards. Some really know how to make a scene happen. Of the classic gay porn strars, Daryl Brock is a favorite. I love Colby Taylor. He's brilliant. One of the films [ChiChi Larue] sent me had Chad Hunt and he's brilliant in it. So nasty. Some people are just stars and he's a star.

You know who is a brilliant star who could very easily be a mainstream movie star is Johnny Hazzard. He's a better looking Richard Gere. His approach to sexuality is revolutionary in his ability to make people watching him feel very comfortable. You don't' feel any shame in it. If he's a top or bottom, he enjoys it.

You directed a porn scene for Michael Lucas, didn't you?

Michael was so great to allow me to do that. It was a lot of fun. I wish I could have directed the whole film and cast it. I would do something so unorthodox.

What would you do?

I love untraditional bodies. I love people who are a little heavy and I love people with hair on their bodies and people who aren't traditional movie star good looking.

So, is making porn like doing drag?

In it's approach to being rebellions and breaking outside the box, it is. I think people who have been ostracized by our culture can teach our culture how to live a successful live and throw the rules out and live your life to the fullest without restrictions.
