Trees Saved; Playgirl, Not So Much

We haven’t been to a Hallmark shop in a really long time (all those stuffed things creep us out), but we’re wondering if they might have a going away card that would be a appropriate for a magazine that’s rumored to be shutting down soon. It shouldn’t be too fancy–you know, no sound chip or anything that pops up–but should just have a tasteful message, something like “Sorry to see you go, Playgirl! Maybe you should’ve admitted teh gays were the only ones buying you all these years a little sooner!” Do you think they’d have anything like that? (Gawker; see also 8/4 update @ gayporntimes.com [i.e., it's true]).

Apparently he used to–though we don’t see him much without his trademark bandanna/Biba ensemble these days, so maybe he’s repented. Or lost his hair.

I wouldn’t be so sure of it. They’re in the middle of a promotional push and hitting some trade events later in the month. Tit’s possible, but they’re on a bit of an upswing as of late (adding cable stations, etc) and I haven’t heard anything like it.

Perhaps — but those promotions have pretty much exclusively focused on their online and broadcast concerns, haven’t they? So we wouldn’t be surprised to see the magazine itself going the way of flaccid centerfolds before too long.

Has Brett always rocked some nasty weave?

@Fleshbot: Like FHM, but for the gays.

Jackyl’s Jesse Dupree looks like someone stuck Celine Dion’s head on top of a shirtless dude!

    See? It’s true. (Thanks, Will)
