2008 Hookies To Be (Yet Another) Night To Remember

2007_12_24_rentboy.jpgBecause the adult entertainment industry has a charmingly pathological need to recognize and commend its own on as many occasions as possible — and let’s face it, because hard-working escorts and masseurs need love too (especially these days) — Rentboy has announced the final ceremony plans and host lineup for its second sort-of-annual Escort Awards, which have amusingly been rechristened “The Hookies” and which will take place at Rage in West Hollywood later this month. Since people always complain at these sort of events that the eventual winners somehow “bought” their awards, isn’t it nice to see one where financial transactions are pretty much the whole point?     Yet another example of my age and income being incompatible with yet another GLBT “award” category tends to make me a voyeur… i.e. I can look, but I dare not touch; I could not afford the fare…
