Hardcore bodybuilding groupies in New York are probably still bummed about the closure of the famous Johnny Lats Gym on 17th Street, formerly home to many of New York City's top amateur bodybuilders, fitness models, and more than a few porn stars—but while the sweat-stained memories might be a thing of the past, some familiar bodies (er, faces) have joined City Gym Boys, a troupe of 14 bodybuilder-slash-models led by founding gym owner Charles La Salle who are now becoming regulars on television and in magazines. The City Gym Boys web portal and their 2007 calendar are chock full of eight- and twelve-pack abs and bulging pecs, and proceeds benefit their main mission of mentoring kids and convincing them to pick up barbells instead of guns. If only we had had such impressive role models to look up to, we might be at the gym right now instead of sitting here writing about smut. Maybe it's not too late?-RM
